The filter paper in the compact band filter is held between a pair of a permeable support belt and sealing discs. Its high hydrostatic head facilitates high filtration activity. The trough formed with filter paper at the bottom traps the dirty fluid. The dirt is left behind while the fluid passes and finer filtration is achieved.
